Call for UNESCO Accreditation for Schools, Universities and Clubs

Dear UN advocates,
The UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) wishes you and your institution our greetings of peace.
We are on the process of developing a strong network of individuals and institutions like schools, NGOs and youth-led organization that are working towards the attainment of the ideals and misson of UNESCO through the UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet) and UNESCO CLUB.
ASPnet is a global network of more than 8,500 educational institutions in 180 countries. Member institutions ranging from pre-schools, primary, secondary and vocational schools to teacher training institutions work in support of international understanding, peace, intercultural dialogue, sustainable development and quality education in practice.
Although UNESCO Clubs may vary a great deal on account of their location and nature of their activities, they all have the same purpose:
  • At the national level, UNESCO Clubs encourage the civic awareness of people to bind them to their historical community and to specific cultural values of which they are the guardians. UNESCO Clubs also bring home to them the need to preserve those values and make their importance, dignity and unique originality clear to all.
  • At the international level, UNESCO Clubs help to spread a desire for understanding and cooperation by organizing face-to-face discussions with other people of all origins and exchanges of information, studies and individuals, as well as through the countless contacts and ties that the modern world makes possible, that is, by exercising a liberal minded influence beyond national frontiers.
Enclosed are the following documents for your reference:

  1. ASPnet Application form
  2. UNESCO Club Application and Accreditation form
Please submit the attached form, on or before 10 November 2010 via our office address: Ground Floor Department of Foreign Affairs Bldg., Roxas Blvd. , Pasay City 1300. Or send the forms via this email.

Should you decide to be accredited as a UNESCO CLUB or ASPnet, the following immediate priveledges/benefits shall be provided to your club/school;

1. Your school or club will part of the global DATA BASE of UNESCO Club and ASPnet School.

2. You will receive official certificate of accreditation from UNESCO National Commission of the Phillippines thus elevating your school and club as a national and global accredited institution.

3. You will receive regular publications from UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines.

4. You will be invited (School ASPnet Coordinator/ UNESCO Club Head) to the National Capacity Building Workshop sponsored by UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines.
